Our Archery Beginners courses are designed to be fun and enjoyable. In these you will be taught the basic skills used in archery
The AFE beginners course is an approved Archery GB course and is run in accordance with Archery GB guidelines.
It is open to everyone from 5 years of age upwards
For children & young people under the age of 14 a parent/guardian must accompany them and be in attendance for the duration of each session. It is up to the adult as to whether they want to join their child on the course or simply observe.
Each course runs over 6 weekly sessions for approximately 90 minutes per session at a cost of £50.
We provide all the equipment needed so even if you are just starting out and don't have your own, you can come along and still take part.
Once the course is complete, all participants will leave with:
-
an understanding of the basic skills of shooting;
-
basic technique, safety and etiquette to the level required to join an archery club;
-
the ability to shoot a recurve bow with reasonable confidence and skill;
-
you will also have been introduced to other types of bows (traditional longbow, compound bow and others); and
-
a certificate providing proof that you have completed a Beginners’ Course and safe to shoot in a club environment. This certificate can be used to join any archery club.
