PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS
PRIMARY, SECONDARY & SPECIAL EDUCATION
Primary Schools
Our 6 week P.E program for primary school children is based on the Archery GB Arrows program. This program is designed to teach children the fundamental skills of archery using a fun and creative approach through games and activities.
We will come to your school for a 60 minute lesson each week for 6 weeks. We provide all the equipment needed to run each session. All of our staff are Access NI checked, first aid qualified and have undergone safeguarding training.
Secondary Schools
Our P.E program for secondary/post primary schools is based on the Archery GB 6 week Beginners Course.
During the 6 weeks your pupils will be taught the basic skills used in archery in a fun and enjoyable way.
The AFE beginners course is an approved Archery GB course and is run in accordance with Archery GB guidelines.
After the 6 weeks your pupils will have:

an understanding of the basic skills of shooting;

basic technique, safety and etiquette to the level required to join an archery club;

the ability to shoot a recurve bow with reasonable confidence and skill;

knowledge of other types of bows (traditional longbow, compound bow and others); and
-
a certificate providing proof that they have completed a Beginners’ Course and are safe to shoot in a club environment. This certificate can be used to join any archery club.
Special Schools
Our P.E programs are run slightly differently in special schools as we have found that no two schools have the same needs or requirements. We have lots of experience when it comes to adapting the activities for all children regardless of physical ability, additional, special or complex needs. We have worked in many special schools across the whole of Northern Ireland and we are proud of the fact that not one child has left our archery range without having a go if it is their wish to take part.
